The design idea was a pavilion-type house with a small footprint, heavy base and a very light, open upper storey and roof, maximising views to the sea and mountain at the back.

This allows maximum sunlight into the house in an area where the sun disappears behind the mountain very early.

The design is inspired by the context of the place and the natural environment that borders it.
